When you use our match form, we collect the information you provide: your name, email, phone number, city, state, ZIP code, hosting timeline, and any notes you add. We collect this so we can match you with an appropriate exchange program and so that program can contact you about hosting.
How we use and share your information
We use your information to (1) recommend a suitable exchange program for your family and (2) share your details with that program, with your consent, which you provide on the form, so they can follow up with you about hosting. We share your information only with the exchange program(s) we match you to. We do not sell your information to unrelated third parties or advertisers.
Legal basis & your consent
We share your information based on the consent you give when you check the consent box and submit the match form. You may withdraw consent or request deletion at any time by emailing privacy@hostfamilymatch.com.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to opt out of its sale (we don't sell it). California residents (CCPA/CPRA) and other U.S. state residents may exercise these rights by emailing privacy@hostfamilymatch.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by law.
Data retention & security
We retain your information only as long as needed to match you and support your inquiry, then delete or anonymize it. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take safeguarding your data seriously.
Children
Our service is intended for adults (18+) considering hosting. We do not knowingly collect information from children. The exchange students themselves are enrolled and screened by the exchange organizations, not by us.

We currently use no advertising cookies. If we add privacy-respecting analytics in the future, we will update this policy.
