About the program
J-1 academic year / semester. Volunteer host (no monthly stipend; may claim a tax deduction for the student's expenses). This is a volunteer host program. Hosts don't receive a salary, but may claim a monthly tax deduction of about $50 for each month they host, and the program covers the student's own spending money, medical insurance, and support.

Families must be new to EF (not previously hosted or been referred).
